Multicultural Affairs & Student Success (MASS) Mission Statement:
MASS is a catalyst for increasing access, success and the full engagement of all students, faculty and staff at The University of Arizona by:
- applying theory and practical techniques to develop innovative services
and programs,
- influencing the design of policy, programs, facility and curricular environments,
- heightening the discourse on the impact of culture and difference, and building strategic alliances with campus community and national organizations.
Social Justice Leadership Center (SJLC) Mission Statement:
The SJLC staff educates, advocates, and recognizes socially just work in the University of Arizona community.
Criteria for grant proposals:
- Must be a UA recognized club/organization to apply. Priority given to
student organizations. Applications from UA affiliated departments will
also be accepted.
- Collaboration with MASS or SJLC units or departments are highly encouraged
and will be given priority.
- Each event must support positive understanding of diversity related issues
and interactions among faculty, staff, students, and/or the Tucson community.
- Proposals targeting undergraduate students will have priority, but proposals
for graduate students will be considered.
- Money must be used for an event in the fall 2006 or spring 2007
semester only.
- Limited funds are available, with a maximum grant of $250.
- Minimum of one grant per club/organization per semester. Multiple submissions
for more than one event will be accepted.
- All awardees will be required to provide a follow-up evaluation of the
sponsored event.
- All applications must be typed.

- Improve policies or practices that impact diverse students, faculty,
staff, and other UA groups
- Celebrate diversity among UA clubs and organizations, faculty, staff,
and the Tucson community
- Vendor Information
- Budget Proposal-Itemized (receipts will be collected if you are awarded
the DAG)
